WELFARE

The welfare state can be seen

for what it really is

the start of the plotting of paint

and the writing’s on the wall

for someone to see

that it is wrong

to start the writing without

knowing the final drip

is like the right of the missionary

to take positions that shouldn’t

be sinned for

but asked again

what is the writing that shall

take you on your journey

to the end of all things

called political sloganeering

and writing of bookended

slaughtered cowed, deepening rut

and welfare entouraged flowers.
