Hard knuckled
Hard knuckled poetry
does not start with a punchline
it breaks the barrier of speed and sound
and shows no loose cannoned shots along
the way to being in scored.
The heavy weight has come
and due for a long retrieval
it uses the wending of a river
to mark a soulless day without
knowing who
to blame
for the riot in the eastern end
of town
when no one goes to see but
everyone knows it to be there
where they do not
know how to find it
alone.
